    Parish Pastoral Council

    Meets monthly.

    • Acts as a consultative body to the Pastor and as the coordinating and unifying structure of the parish community.
    • Seeks full participation of the parish community in its mission by giving all a voice in supporting, guiding and directing the various aspects of parish life.
    • Gathers together the visions, hopes and needs of the parish community; reflects upon them until a consensus is reached; and translates this consensus into parish planning through establishment of goals and objectives.
    • Oversees implementation of the parish goals and objectives by the parish Commissions and committees.

    Parish Commissions and Committees

    Worship Commission

    Meetings: 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. (September - June)

    The purpose of the Worship Commission is to set the goals, direction and standards for the Liturgical life and activities of the Parish.

    Administration

    • Recruit, train and schedule the Litugical Ministries of the Church: Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, Sacristans, Ushers, Music (choir and musicians), Greeters, Arts and Environment
    • Coordinate the planning of liturgical events.
    • Implement the liturgical policies and directives of the Catholic Church.
    • Oversees implementaiton of the parish goals and objectives by its commissions and committees.

    Support

    • Assist the Parish Staff in providing meaningful and inspirational Liturgical Celebrations and prayer services.
    • Represent the LIturgical needs of the parishers to Parish Staff
    • Promote and support: Ministry to the homebound (with Christian Service Commission), Rosary Altar Society, Ushers Club

    Education

    • Oversee the continuing education of the Parish on liturgical matters.
    • Evaluate the liturgical ministers and provide support through education and formation
    • Update Worship Commission members about liturgical developments in the Church

    Education Commission

    Meetings are 1st Thursday of month at 7:00 p.m.

    • Coordinates and supports all education and faith formation program of the parish
    • Brings about a full and active faith life of our parishioners by making Catholic education a lifelong process
    • Assists the educational ministries within the parish and works with other parishes to offer a variety of opportunites for spiritual growth

    • Ad hoc committee (e.g., Human Love, Library, Protecting God's Children, SAFE Environment Protection Team)

    Evangelization Commission

    Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

    • Serves as a catalyst for the total evangelizing efforts of the parish to reach out to active Catholics, alienated and inactive Catholics, the unchurched, young adults and youth
    • Works with the staff, Parish Council and Commissions to develop greater appreciation of the evangelization dimension of their ministries/activities. 

    Family Life Committee

    • A group that coordinates volunteers who work together to support and enrich the parish family through spirit-renewing programs, family-centered activities, and marriage strengthening opportunities.  Its signature statement is "Uniting the parish family through faith and friendship."

    Activities Committee

    • A group that is responsible for planning parish parties, events, dances, dinner threatre, and onsite and offsite trips (e.g., DIA).  The Activities Committees provides a spirit of fellowship and faith connection in our faith community.

    Building and Grounds Commission

    Meetings are the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

    • Supervises maintenance
    • Develops and maintains a strategic and operational plan for the parish campus/facilities
    • Long-range planning for capital needs and repairs
    • Supervision of on-going maintenance
    • Operational planning and monitoring activities
    • Repository for construction drawings, equipment, and manuals

    Stewardship Commission

    • Provides financial services to the Parish Council and its Commission, including budget recommendations
    • Plans, provides for and supervises the financial affairs of the parish
    • Reviews budget performance incomes and expenditures
    • Reviews and approves fund-raising programs of the parish
