Father Gary and the Principal Search Committee are pleased to introduce Michael Reece as
New Principal of Our Lady Star of the Sea. Mr. Reece has served as an educator and educational leader within the Archdiocese of Detroit
his entire career. He is an experienced principal having served on the Superintendent's Advisory Committee and has twice
been awarded the Michigan Catholic Library Association’s St. Jerome award. Mr. Reece is an enthusiastic
leader who believes a school can always be better the next day than it was today and enjoys collaborating with parents, teachers
and students on continual school improvement. His experience has consistently demonstrated his ability
to create an educational environment which is Catholic, Christ-centered, comprehensive, challenging, creative, collaborative
and compassionate.
Mr. Reece’s passion for Catholic education is further demonstrated
by his own children attending catholic grade and high school. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Education
in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University.
Planning is underway for an opportunity for parents to
meet and greet our new principal during the first week of school, more details will follow.
